PITCH SELECTIONS ANNOUNCED!

TechCrunch wants to showcase the best startups that the region has to offer. 8 companies have been selected to pitch to the jury and audience, which includes many key investors from the region and beyond.  The pitch format is a 5 minute presentation plus 5 minutes for questions.

Thanks to the almost 50 companies that applied to pitch in Riga. Here are the 8 startups selected:


BusyFlow (Lithuania): BusyFlow is a workspace that integrates cloud-based productivity and collaboration apps and makes them work together. E.g. users are able choose a Dropbox file, start a discussion about it on Yammer wall and then create a Pivotal Tracker story in just one click, from a single interface.

GateMe (Estonia): GateMe is a simple guestlist management (CRM) for promoters and venues. We have developed powerful, but super-easy tablet-optimized and cloud-based guestlist checking solution as well as preselling environment that has become really popular among Estonian nightclubs.

Infogram (Latvia): Web based infographic and data visualization software. Think of it as Adobe Illustrator for interactive infographics, in the cloud, SaaS. Build for journalists, bloggers, data professionals, education, finance, designers.

Mokipay (Lithuania): Mokipay has launched a unique mobile payments and loyalty system that works with NFC sticker attached to mobile phone and linked to subscribers' SIM card. Mokipay mobile payments are accepted by shops, restaurants (including McDonalds), petrol stations, schools and other merchants.

Pozitel (Latvia): Pozitel is an innovative approach to telecom – make cheap international calls right from Web or from any Android device. Receive calls to incoming numbers from over 60 counties – to browser or mobile. No downloads, no installs – start calling immediately after quick signup. 

Priienergia (Estonia): Our company’s invention is a waste water heat exchanger. It helps to return up to 80% wasted energy back to the house, so 32B of the 40B Euros wasted annually in the EU can be returned. We have first installation up and running in Estonia, we’ve filed a patent covering whole Europe. 

Pult (Estonia): Pult will let you watch your content on any screen. Using your mobile phone as identity carrier, connection agent and remote control you can gain access to your files in the cloud (videos and pictures on Youtube, Facebook, Flickr etc.), pay-TV channels, rented or purchased movies and any other content you have right to access. 

Sellfy (Latvia): Sellfy provides simple, affordable, drag & drop solution enabling anyone to start selling digital goods within seconds. With Sellfy you can also start to promote your products instantly using social media promotional campaigns, where best deals are available to those who share the products with their friends.
